Abstract

In the field documentation of the excavations carried out in the 40s of the 20th century in Azougada (Moura, Portugal) several circular structures were recorded. They had a foundation made with rocks and adobe walls and were sometimes associated with combustion evidence and carbonized seeds. They are morphologically similar to a set of structures identified mainly in the southern segment of the Iberian Peninsula, in the Iron Age, interpreted as kilns or storage silos.

In this work, a systematization of the data concerning these structures, as well as an intent to contribute to the knowledge of Azougada’s architecture, are made.
